Since joining, 25% of our guests choose to participate. The collaboration adds an extra layer to the guest experience. At Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, our partnership with Hotels for Trees since November 2023 has been a resounding success. Over the past 1.5 years, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our guests who appreciate the initiative of waiving cleaning services in exchange for planting trees. An impressive 32% of our stayover guests have chosen to plant a tree at least once during their stay, contributing to a healthier planet. This initiative has not only positively influenced our cost structure but also enhanced our guests’ perception of our sustainability efforts. It’s truly a win-win!

The idea of planting trees and consciously foregoing room cleaning is taken seriously by our guests and implemented immediately. This also means that linen and towels are not changed. This reduces our carbon footprint. Guests rate this initiative very highly and share their experiences in their feedback/reviews.

Room Mate Mario is proud to participate in this initiative, which allows us to contribute to environmental sustainability in a tangible and meaningful way. We started recently (3 months ago) and with the sum of each day we have planted 252 trees. This small action not only helps to reduce water and energy consumption, but also supports reforestation efforts and raises awareness among our guests. The feedback has been positive as our guests appreciate being part of a project that goes beyond comfort and really makes a difference.
