Since joining, 25% of our guests choose to participate. The collaboration adds an extra layer to the guest experience. Planting a tree is symbolic: representing growth, long‑term thinking, and a meaningful choice. It’s proof that sustainability doesn’t sacrifice comfort. Every tree planted contributes to a healthier planet, and together we make hospitality a force for good.

At Hotel de Sterrenberg we believe that true luxury doesn’t lie only in wellness and comfort, but also in acting consciously towards the world around us. That’s why we are a proud partner of Hotels for Trees. Every guest who chooses to skip a housekeeping service helps contribute to something bigger: a new tree. Since joining the Hotels for Trees initiative late 2022, we’ve seen an annual increase in guest participation. The ease at which our guests can participate and choose to contribute to a greener world is met with great enthusiasm. Resulting now in an average of ~1000 trees planted per month and since joining close to 18.000 trees. Being a Green Globe Platinum Member (certified for ten consecutive years), this initiative is not only a presentation of our own sustainability achievements but also resonates very well with today’s eco-conscious traveller.

Partnering with Hotels for Trees aligns perfectly with our sustainability goals at Hotel Oderberger Berlin. Together, we’ve already planted 765 trees, reducing our environmental footprint while engaging guests in a positive initiative. It’s a win-win for hospitality and the planet.

Our partnership with Hotels for Trees has had a significant impact. For every night a room does not need to be cleaned, a tree is planted. This helps us reduce our ecological footprint and allows us to contribute to a greener future. Our hotel guests have responded enthusiastically. As a result, we have already planted more than 3.500 trees (March 2025). We are proud of this partnership and look forward to creating even more positive change together.

At Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, our partnership with Hotels for Trees since November 2023 has been a resounding success. Over the past 1.5 years, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our guests who appreciate the initiative of waiving cleaning services in exchange for planting trees. An impressive 32% of our stayover guests have chosen to plant a tree at least once during their stay, contributing to a healthier planet. This initiative has not only positively influenced our cost structure but also enhanced our guests’ perception of our sustainability efforts. It’s truly a win-win!
