Where hotel guests plant trees

Royal Lancaster London has been a proud partner of Hotels for Trees since 2022, becoming the first hotel in the UK to join the initiative. Since then, our guests have helped plant thousands of trees through a simple choice that integrates effortlessly into their stay. Room Mate Mario is proud to participate in this initiative, which allows us to contribute to environmental sustainability in a tangible and meaningful way. We started recently (3 months ago) and with the sum of each day we have planted 252 trees. This small action not only helps to reduce water and energy consumption, but also supports reforestation efforts and raises awareness among our guests. The feedback has been positive as our guests appreciate being part of a project that goes beyond comfort and really makes a difference.

Partnering with Hotels for Trees aligns perfectly with our sustainability goals at Hotel Oderberger Berlin. Together, we’ve already planted 765 trees, reducing our environmental footprint while engaging guests in a positive initiative. It’s a win-win for hospitality and the planet.

Since joining the Hotels for Trees initiative late 2022, we’ve seen an annual increase in guest participation. The ease at which our guests can participate and choose to contribute to a greener world is met with great enthusiasm. Resulting now in an average of ~1000 trees planted per month and since joining close to 18.000 trees. Being a Green Globe Platinum Member (certified for ten consecutive years), this initiative is not only a presentation of our own sustainability achievements but also resonates very well with today’s eco-conscious traveller.

We’ve been working with Hotels for Trees for about three years now, and it’s been such a great experience. Our guests and staff have responded very positively, and it’s great to see how much they appreciate the sustainability effort. More and more, our guests want to know their stay is making a difference, and it’s been amazing seeing the impact. We love seeing all the trees being planted, and we’re excited to keep it going!

Before I started working at the Radisson Hotel & Suites, I was not familiar with Hotels for Trees. I’ve noticed that many of our guests value it, and instead of choosing a drink or points, they are more likely to opt for planting a tree. A few of my colleagues and I also go out to plant the trees ourselves, and we share this with our guests. They really appreciate it, and so far, we’ve already planted 2.496 trees. Personally, I think it’s a fantastic initiative, and we will definitely continue with it!
