Where hotel guests plant trees

Royal Lancaster London has been a proud partner of Hotels for Trees since 2022, becoming the first hotel in the UK to join the initiative. Since then, our guests have helped plant thousands of trees through a simple choice that integrates effortlessly into their stay. Since joining the Hotels for Trees initiative late 2022, we’ve seen an annual increase in guest participation. The ease at which our guests can participate and choose to contribute to a greener world is met with great enthusiasm. Resulting now in an average of ~1000 trees planted per month and since joining close to 18.000 trees. Being a Green Globe Platinum Member (certified for ten consecutive years), this initiative is not only a presentation of our own sustainability achievements but also resonates very well with today’s eco-conscious traveller.

Our partnership with Hotels for Trees has had a significant impact. For every night a room does not need to be cleaned, a tree is planted. This helps us reduce our ecological footprint and allows us to contribute to a greener future. Our hotel guests have responded enthusiastically. As a result, we have already planted more than 3.500 trees (March 2025). We are proud of this partnership and look forward to creating even more positive change together.

Partnering with Hotels for Trees has been a transformative experience for us. Our guests are thrilled to contribute to reforestation efforts simply by choosing eco-friendly options during their stay. We’ve received numerous positive comments from guests who appreciate our commitment to sustainability. Participating in Hotels for Trees not only strengthens our green credentials but also fosters a deeper connection with environmentally conscious travelers.

Before I started working at the Radisson Hotel & Suites, I was not familiar with Hotels for Trees. I’ve noticed that many of our guests value it, and instead of choosing a drink or points, they are more likely to opt for planting a tree. A few of my colleagues and I also go out to plant the trees ourselves, and we share this with our guests. They really appreciate it, and so far, we’ve already planted 2.496 trees. Personally, I think it’s a fantastic initiative, and we will definitely continue with it!
