The program not only offsets our CO₂ emissions through tree planting, but also reduces emissions directly. Hotels for Trees is key in reaching our ambitious sustainability targets. Before I started working at the Radisson Hotel & Suites, I was not familiar with Hotels for Trees. I’ve noticed that many of our guests value it, and instead of choosing a drink or points, they are more likely to opt for planting a tree. A few of my colleagues and I also go out to plant the trees ourselves, and we share this with our guests. They really appreciate it, and so far, we’ve already planted 2.496 trees. Personally, I think it’s a fantastic initiative, and we will definitely continue with it!

The idea of planting trees and consciously foregoing room cleaning is taken seriously by our guests and implemented immediately. This also means that linen and towels are not changed. This reduces our carbon footprint. Guests rate this initiative very highly and share their experiences in their feedback/reviews.

Since joining, 25% of our guests choose to participate. The collaboration adds an extra layer to the guest experience. Room Mate Mario is proud to participate in this initiative, which allows us to contribute to environmental sustainability in a tangible and meaningful way. We started recently (3 months ago) and with the sum of each day we have planted 252 trees. This small action not only helps to reduce water and energy consumption, but also supports reforestation efforts and raises awareness among our guests. The feedback has been positive as our guests appreciate being part of a project that goes beyond comfort and really makes a difference.
