Partnering with Hotels for Trees has been a transformative experience for us. Our guests are thrilled to contribute to reforestation efforts simply by choosing eco-friendly options during their stay. The program not only offsets our CO₂ emissions through tree planting, but also reduces emissions directly. Hotels for Trees is key in reaching our ambitious sustainability targets. Before I started working at the Radisson Hotel & Suites, I was not familiar with Hotels for Trees. I’ve noticed that many of our guests value it, and instead of choosing a drink or points, they are more likely to opt for planting a tree. A few of my colleagues and I also go out to plant the trees ourselves, and we share this with our guests. They really appreciate it, and so far, we’ve already planted 2.496 trees. Personally, I think it’s a fantastic initiative, and we will definitely continue with it!

Our partnership with Hotels for Trees has had a significant impact. For every night a room does not need to be cleaned, a tree is planted. This helps us reduce our ecological footprint and allows us to contribute to a greener future. Our hotel guests have responded enthusiastically. As a result, we have already planted more than 3.500 trees (March 2025). We are proud of this partnership and look forward to creating even more positive change together.

At Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, our partnership with Hotels for Trees since November 2023 has been a resounding success. Over the past 1.5 years, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our guests who appreciate the initiative of waiving cleaning services in exchange for planting trees. An impressive 32% of our stayover guests have chosen to plant a tree at least once during their stay, contributing to a healthier planet. This initiative has not only positively influenced our cost structure but also enhanced our guests’ perception of our sustainability efforts. It’s truly a win-win!

The idea of planting trees and consciously foregoing room cleaning is taken seriously by our guests and implemented immediately. This also means that linen and towels are not changed. This reduces our carbon footprint. Guests rate this initiative very highly and share their experiences in their feedback/reviews.
