The Netherlands – New Forest in Drenthe

Trees planted

A new forest is made in the countryside of Drenthe, het Wiekersholt. Native trees will be planted, both slow and fast growing plants. This will ensure that a diversity of animals will be attracted to the forest, such as the otter, kingfisher and the bluethroat. Furthermore, multiple nature areas will be connected with each other. This way, the landscape becomes more resilient and it creates a more biodiverse ecosystem.
